About Us
Angler Counseling promotes mental health by being on the water and fly fishing. Participants learn to handle emotions and enjoy rewards that are earned through diligent persistence and mindful practice. Emotional experiences are processed and compared to everyday life situations that cause stress. These experiences help bridge the gap between your adventure with us and your life at home and empower you to pull out the tools to manage life's stressors.
Many emotions are difficult to manage without the skills needed to cope with them. Furthermore, the resulting behaviors often emerge as anger -- a secondary feeling often blanketing the actual emotion that requires work. With Angler Counseling you learn to reach your goals while managing these emotions which will positively affect the people around you, improve your relationships, and ultimately better your life.
Our therapeutic modality is based on cognitive behavior therapy and existential philosophy. Other areas we enjoy helping people succeed include the college or career search. We are intimately familiar with many of the top academic institutions available and have the resources to help you plan for and work towards admission into the right program and to pursue your career goals.
